Power boats are boats designed specially for rapid movement with inboard or outboard engine. The power plant can either be mounted at back of the boat or close to the middle of the boat. Powerboats vary in specification from the normal powerboats to those with enough space for comfort cruising with single or double cockpits and mega yachts designed to move fast. Specification of a modestly comfortable powerboat includes the following, 3 x 225 Hp 4 stork engines; GPS depth sounder, Length of 47 ft, 15 meter hull; cruising speed 40 knots; emergency oxygen, full medic kit, radio, safety kits etc. An incident occurred in Lagos, Nigeria waters recently when some pirates operating in powerboat hijack a cargo ship and were about looting the ship when the Naval base got a tip-off and immediately responded. There are several cities around the world surrounded by water but which little or no effort is made towards investment in ocean transportation. There is the need to look at what transportation will the masses pay the least amount?  What transportation has the accident severity rate and accident frequency rate? TRAVEL TRANSPORTATION COST Comparing travel transportation cost, air transportation is the most expensive, followed by road transportation and the least is water transportation.
