2014 Antibes Yacht Show Opens Season

Antibes is a beautiful resort town in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur and is only 7,500 square miles in size. The population is 76, 994 however it’s always got an influx of tourists. Every year the Antibes Yacht Show opens the super yacht season with the April Yacht Show and this year was as magnificent as the last. You might wonder why Antibes was selected. It is because the location can hold more superyachts than anywhere else on the Mediterranean.
The whole idea started when it was realized that there was an unusually high demand for a spring yacht show on the Cote d’Azur. Since Antibes is the home of so many megayachts and had the capacity, the city was the perfect choice.
Over 13,000 visitors attended the show this year to tour the 130 exhibited yachts. Of course that number of visitors includes exhibitors, brokers, builders and buyers. Touring the yachts is the real fun of attending any yacht show, so most visitors took the time to inspect this year’s lineup which included some of the finest from each class.
Many visitors paid for the VIP pass so they could enjoy the VIP lounge, which provided the best views of the mega yachts on display. It’s also where a lot of the deals are made, so while the champagne flowed boats were being bought and sold.
The  show was a great open for yachting and show season. Take a peak at a few of the finer yachts on the market this year and see which one you would buy.
