Futuristic SuperYachts by Blohm and Voss

Blohm & Voss is one of the most well-known yacht manufacturers in the world. In a minute you’ll see some of the largest and most futuristic yachts on the waters. As you’ll notice, the interiors are as incredible as the exteriors. The company is a German shipbuilding and engineering company and was founded in 1877, just to give you an idea of how long its been around. In fact, the company was responsible for building several warship and battle cruisers for World Wars I and II but has been a modern ship builder ever since. Although the company engineers and builds the boats, they contract some of the finest designers in the business to create these masterpieces.

These luxury superyachts are incredible motorboats and can carry sports equipment, helicopters and even personal submarines. They all require large crews and we understand the crews are quite pleased with their quarters and feel rather fortunate to have landed such amazing jobs on these crafts. Interestingly, two of the five we are showing you today, are owned by Russian billionaires. In fact, one of the billionaires owns four yachts in total. Go figure. When you have that much money, it’s easier to have yachts located in different parts of the world rather than have to deal with moving them.

1. Jazz 95

This is so futuristic is almost looks like a UFO of some sort. All we can say is “wow”. Zaha Hadid conceived of and designed this line and the first one is going into production. The technical specifications have been finished and the naval architects are working their magic to bring this incredible design into fruition. It is called a unique circle design and is one of five, each one completely ready to customize.

2. Palladium (Orca)

Formerly known as Orca, the Palladium was designed inside and out by Michael Leach Design and is one of the most talked about yachts since its introduction in 2010. It truly is another one-of-a-kind with its sleek lines and can hold up to 16 overnight guests in 8 full-size cabins. The design was developed over a five-year period and is considered organically-sculpted with rounded corners and its aerodynamic foundation.

3. Eclipse

Until last year, the Eclipse was the largest yacht in the world. Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich, is the owner and is used to owning the largest of everything in the world. It is difficult to imagine why anyone would need a yacht larger than the 534 feet of the Eclipse, as this is one fine motor yacht. It’s estimated value is around $500 million, however it is doubtful Abramovich will sell anytime soon, as it’s the most famous of his four yachts.

4. Mayan Queen IV

The Mayan Queen IV is another enormous and futuristic yacht built by Blohm and Voss. It’s owned by the second wealthiest man in Mexican – billionaire Alberto Bailleres – who is worth nearly $7 billion.It was designed by Tim Heywood Design (exterior) and Terence Disdale (interior) in 2008/2009.  The motor yacht is said to be worth about $180 million and has a 30-person crew, so if you’re in the mood for a new water toy, we’ve heard it is on the  market.

5. A

We could not leave out this incredible 400 foot long yacht, owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko.  It’s considered to be one of the most expensive in the world and was named after Melnichenko’s wife, Aleksandra. The unique shape of the hull was designed to cut through ice and other large objects that might present themselves. It comes with a a discotheque, a private helipad and features about 24,000 square feet of interior space which includes 2,500 square feet just for the master cabin. The flooring is marble, the windows are made from bomb-proof materials and the three swimming pools mean you don’t have to walk far to take a dip.
