One company that helped pioneer the concept is MySuites, who design, manage and rent “boutique suites” in New York City. They hold a collection of apartments located in a variety of Manhattan hot spots and are used only by their guests. Their apartment suites are usually found in vintage buildings, which ensures they have a prime location and an authentic NYC setting. Neighborhoods include Chelsea, NoMad District, Meatpacking District, Greenwich Village and the East Village. Steping out of the tourist traps and puts you in the “real” NYC, giving you access to international designer fashion and upscale restaurants down to hip boutiques and trendy diners.

The suites include studios, lofts, one and two bedrooms. They’re outfitted with full kitchens and living rooms, perfect for a romantic getaway for two but space to lounge out and entertain guests. The interior design for every suite is completed by MySuites&Co, which is their in-house design studio. NYC itself is their biggest influence when it came to designing these suites, which can be seen from the furnishings to the decor. Plenty of vintage and designer touches are included, such as original pieces by Eames and Philippe Starck. Keeping pride in their NYC roots, they include many classic photos and decor paying tribute to it, such as photos from famous movie scenes or celebrities from the Big Apple.

And to compete with the bevy of boutique hotels in Manhattan, they also offer similar services to keep their guests happy. They range from a concierge, room service, grocery delivery, ensuite chef, private driver and Equinox gym access. So MySuites combines these boutique hotel services with the appeal of a private vacation rental apartment, then wraps it all in a stylish package right in the heart of NYC.
