YACHT CREW

Are you planning to own a yacht or a boat or you already have one and you are thinking of a crew for your boat or yacht?  The type of crew you need depend on the type and size of yacht or boat you have.
The crew you need for a commercial yacht will be different from the crew for a private yacht.  Private yacht, to save cost, would require only the most important crew on a yacht.  This in effect means the crew members in a private yacht may be doing more work than the crew members in a big or commercial yacht.
There is need to ensure that yacht crew members have the necessary qualification and have experience as far as cruising or maritime is concerned.
The general crew members expected in a standard ship are; CAPTAIN – A Captain of a yacht is in charge and takes responsibility for the conduct and performance of other crew members.  A captain must have license and be more knowledgeable on general maritime issues.
MATES (first, second and third), Mates assists the Captain to ensure he discharges his duties efficiently and effectively.  They should also be licensed.
ENGINEERS – They attend to engine or any other mechanical or electrical problems.  In a very
big ship or yacht, you will have a Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer and Assistant Engineers.
CHEF – Like in hospitality companies are in charge of ordering ingredients, preparation of food, serving, quality of food and hygiene.
STEWARD/STEWARDESS – Courteous, making those on board comfortable. Taking care of luggage and attending to esquires from those on board.
SAFETY OFFICER – Making sure of strict adherence to safety standards.  Procurement of safety materials like life jackets etc.
PUSER – Taking care of accounts, budgeting and advising on expenses.
DOCTOR/NURSE – This is necessary in a very big yacht.
LAUNDRY STAFF for laundry work for guests.
Whatever yacht you own or plan to purchase, Burgess Yacht, Private Yacht, Hatteras Yacht or Luxury Yacht, the size will determine the crew members.
