OCEAN TRANSPORTATION – CRYING FOR INVESTMENT

Image
There are several cities around the world surrounded by water but which little or no effort is made towards investment in ocean transportation. There is the need to look at what transportation will the masses pay the least amount?  What transportation has the accident severity rate and accident frequency rate? TRAVEL TRANSPORTATION COST Comparing travel transportation cost, air transportation is the most expensive, followed by road transportation and the least is water transportation. TRAVEL TRANSPORTATION ACCIDENT SEVERITY RATE From incident reports, air transportation has the highest severity rate as there is little or no chance for survival if a plane has problem on air.  The impact of the plane due to its speed and distance from ground makes survival near impossible.  Human beings are not made to fly, so, it is not possible to jump down from a problematic plane on air.  Road transportation is next, however, there is survival chance, as people can be...

Chronicles Of A Chic Traveler 2

Image
Dubai, Part 2   Day 3 No guided tour but I woke up early so I can eat breakfast at the earliest time and be off to explore the city. I set out to the downtown area. Though the malls opened at 10 am, I wanted to visit the attractions early. I  wasn't  in much of a hurry so I strolled the streets until it was time to head to Dubai Mall. It was quite impressive. I got lost a couple of times inside the mall. You can’t really fault me as this is the largest mall in the world! I figured since it was right by the Burj Khalifah, I just had to visit the world’s tallest building, too. The views from the view deck were amazing but I wish the deck was at the topmost floor. That would have been perfect! By evening, my tour group reunited for a beautiful Dhow Cruise dinner along Dubai Creek. The river was really beautiful. The shows were also fantastic. At the end of the cruise, I was full – from the food and music.   Day 4 We went  to Abu   Dhabi For ...

Chronicles Of A Chic Traveler 1

Image
Dubai, Part 1   The Middle  East Has  always held fascination with me ever since I was a child, listening wide eyed to the stories featured in  One Thousand and One Nights . I don’t even know for certain  if Dubai  was ever mentioned but it was the very first place in  the Middle  East that I had set out to visit. As a woman traveling alone, I know it would be hard to go anywhere in the rest of the UAE  but Dubai is  friendly to most travelers. Grabbing the first chance I got, I planned my vacation  to Dubai   I figured that it would take me at least 2 weeks to really enjoy the city but since I also wanted to visit other places,  I'd  cut the trip by half. The best deals I found in a website selling vacation packages that included tours and hotel stays for 5 nights and 6 days.   Day 1 The long-haul flight was tiresome but I quickly forgot about it the moment I had a glimpse of the beauty  of Du...

Chronicles Of A Chic Traveler: The Philippines

Image
A few months after I went  to Dubai   I was ready for The Philippines. My parents had visited the country and only had high praises so I decided to visit it myself.   Manila And  Surrounding Cities I stayed 5-star The Peninsula Manila and was definitely awed by their amazing service and the fantastic fountains. Not sure what my parents had so raved  about Manila but  the traffic jams kinda made the trip unimpressive. I was stuck in traffic for an hour or so trying to reach the Mall of Asia from my hotel. But once in the mall, I forgot about my frustrations as I got lost in the many boutiques and shops that I almost hit the limit on my credit card that very day. I  didn't  really have a fixed itinerary so I was thankful that there was a travel agency in the mall. The guy recommended tours to Boracay  and Palawan so  I took them but I also got a last tour to Ifugao because I like the poster of the rice terraces they had. ...
